Michael Spertus, MD, RYT200, is a physician board certified in Family Medicine, Integrative Medicine, and Lifestyle Medicine. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University and a Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the Institute for Family Medicine, Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine in New York. He was formerly the Medical Director at the Marino Center for Integrative Health and an Instructor for Harvard Medical School. Dr. Spertus focuses his clinical care on Integrative Medicine approaches that treat the whole person in the context of their lives, with a focus on the intersection between physical and mental health. He has trained extensively in mindfulness-based interventions for health outcomes, and his background as a registered yoga teacher has deepened his experience with mindfulness. He has completed advanced teacher training in mindfulness groups and has facilitated several groups. He has also completed the certificate program from the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy. It is a true joy for him to facilitate mindfulness groups, and he looks forward to helping cultivate shared meaningful experiences.
