Amit Solanki is a clinical support fellow at the CMC supporting our Mindful Mental Health Services team. He also works with Somerville and Cambridge elder services and is a research scientist at Harvard in nanophotonics, with a focus on how light interacts with matter and makes color. A Cambridge resident, Amit originally hails from Killa Pardi, a small town in western India that’s roughly 200 miles north of Mumbai.

Amit holds a PhD in Nanophysics from the Center for Atomic Energy in Grenoble, France. He earned a masters in Nanotechnology from the Royal Institute for Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, and studied electronics and communication engineering at NIT Bhopal. He also volunteers with the SCES Technology Coaches program. In addition to partaking in badminton, he finds pleasure in watching movies, engaging in discussions about dharma, and attending meditation retreats. Amit is fluent in English, Hindi, and Gujarati. His first name is pronounced a-mit (with a soft “a”).
