Leah Howard is a Clinical Research & Mindful Mental Health Service Coordinator at the Center for Mindfulness and Compassion (CMC). She supports the Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Resilience (MBCT-R) study and the Mindful-OBOT study, which investigates the effect of mindfulness training on opioid use & anxiety during primary care opioid treatment. On the clinical side, she supports the CHA MindWell community mental wellness and Spanish Mindful-PC programs. A graduate of Bowdoin College, Leah’s studies in Psychology and Hispanic studies have cultivated her passion to research and implement evidence-based, equitable, and culturally-responsive mental healthcare. Her deep appreciation for mindfulness & meditation began in early high school, and she is thrilled to continue engaging with these practices on a personal and professional level at CMC.
