Internal Family Systems® Workshop: Chronic Pain

Registration for this workshop has now closed.

Join us for a special Internal Family Systems (IFS) workshop! This program will provide behavioral health professionals with a holistic perspective of chronic pain based on the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model of the mind. A treatment approach utilizing IFS therapy to relieve chronic pain will be presented using clinical case material, didactic instruction, and an experiential exercise. You will learn how chronic pain can be inadvertently, and sometimes purposefully, maintained by parts of the personality in their attempts to cope with toxic stress. This workshop outlines the application of IFS Health Therapy to chronic pain, and identifies intervention points where clinicians and clients accessing the qualities of the core Self can disrupt the pain cycle where parts of the internal system are ensnared. This will be taught by Nancy Sowell, LICSW, an IFS Instructor, Lead Trainer, and IFS Course Co-Director.
