April M. Jones is the Programs and Marketing Specialist at the Center for Mindfulness and Compassion (CMC). She oversees the community and professional training programs, along with strategic planning and execution of all marketing activities. April manages various aspects of CMC's programming, including the Mindfulness & Compassion Grand Rounds series at Harvard Medical School, 8-week community programs, Live Online offerings, professional trainings with continuing education credits, and the integration of a new learning management system. She also handles CMC's primary email correspondence, website maintenance, social media management, newsletter creation, video production, imagery creation, and the strategic growth of our database. Recently, April launched a YouTube channel for CMC, aiming to broaden the reach of our mission to integrate mindfulness and compassion into healthcare systems.
Holding a B.A. in Public Communication from American University, April brings over two decades of experience in corporate and non-profit marketing and public relations. Amid the 2009 recession, she returned to school, graduating with honors from the National Holistic Institute in Emeryville, CA, as a Certified Massage Therapist and Health Educator. April's career since then has been a blend of marketing consulting and well-being consulting, focusing on stress management and soft tissue therapy for injury and post-surgery recovery. Discovering mindfulness as a vital tool for mental health, she now uses her communication expertise to help others explore mindfulness and compassion through CMC's work. April is currently undergoing Teacher Training in “Introducing Mindfulness,” an evidence-based program from the Oxford Mindfulness Centre.
